Helen Foster-GrimeHelen, a former company director, was inspired to join the Liberal Democrats after meeting the late Cheadle MP, Patsy Calton, who recognised that Helen had the skills and qualities that would be helpful to ordinary people in their shared passion fighting for social justice and equality, quickly becoming a tireless, energetic and popular campaigner. Helen, as a parent of three young children, has that rare combination in politics of down to earth family woman experiencing many of the real life issues facing young families today, and international business experience having represented British Industry at senior level to governments around the world.
A superb motivator, leader and team player, Helen has the ability to inspire confidence at all levels. Skilled in negotiation, Helen's experience with both small companies and as a director with multi-national organisations includes working with: senior level government officials and ministers across Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union; the UK Government's DTI, MAFF, and Dept of Environment; ECGD, British Embassies overseas, CBI, World Bank Group, EBRD, EIB, European Commission and European Parliament, and other groups such as Business Links and Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Middle East Association, and 'Understanding Industry'. Her successful career in Industry enables her to offer the Liberal Democrats wide-ranging financial and management experience both in the public and private sector. A law graduate and fluent in several languages, including French, Russian and German, Helen is as passionate an internationalist as she is proud of her home turf, the beautiful North-West of England and her love of football! Helen is a charismatic and inspirational leader whose energetic approach to campaigning for the rights and freedoms of ordinary people is matched only by her great sense of fun and warm humour.
